About Me
My name is Sophia Abbasi and I am a Multimedia Journalist currently freelancing. I am a first-generation Pakistani-Canadian who loves to travel, learn, and bring my creativity to life through my work.
For the past three years, I have been working towards increasing my experience/expanding my multi-media skills. I have created podcast episodes, small documentaries and broadcasted live on a radio shows.
I have written numerous articles on topics ranging from Art and Culture, Mental Health, Crime, Press releases, and Community News.
Experience
Knowing that my stories have positively impacted a person/community truly motivates me. I have worked with international students, parents with disabilties and news organizations. It is important to have a strong and sensible voice whilst reporting on sensitive topics, and I believe to have that voice. When it comes to my creativity, the sky is the limit. I love to be on top of new trends and create new engaging content. Whether it is infront of the camera, or I am the mastermind behind the art, creativity flows within me.
